Privacy policy
The tools on this site run in your browser. What you type into the generator, the images you decode and your camera feed are processed on your device and are not sent to us. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits. Details below.
The QR tools
- Generator: the content you encode (links, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details) and any logo image you add are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded or stored on a server.
- Reader: camera frames and images are decoded on your device and discarded. Decoded links are shown as text and are never opened automatically.
- Map location tool: map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap's tile servers. If you use the search box, your search text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find the place. If you click "locate me", your browser asks for permission and the position is used only on the page.
There are no accounts, no contact forms and no advertising on this site.
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd) to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type. The data you enter into the QR tools is not sent to Google Analytics. See Google's explanation of how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party resources
To load fonts and code libraries, pages request files from third-party servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of any web request:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com)
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — QR encoding library
- jsDelivr — QR decoding library on the reader
- unpkg and OpenStreetMap — map library, tiles and search on the map tool
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; Cloudflare processes requests to deliver the pages.
Local storage
The generator remembers your appearance settings (colours, margin, error-correction level, module style) in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. This stays on your device; clear your browser's site data to remove it.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The QR tools keep working with analytics blocked.
